Full Service Custom Pricing

For clients who demand top of the line service, Full Custom Design is the choice. All designs are totally custom made. No cookie cutter templates are used. Extra effort is put into the concept and design stages so you get exactly what you want.

The following list describes base prices by project type. Please submit a request for a quote to receive a more accurate and specific price for your project.

To assist Clients in planning and submitting materials for their projects, a Submission Guidelines PDF guide is available for download. Text and image submission requirements are explained in detail. If you have any questions at all, please contact me.

Custom design base prices include the following:

  1. Three (3) initial design concepts (based on detailed initial conversation, email exchange, or meeting).
    Note: If initial three design concepts up to this point are rejected, additional designs can be created
    at a rate of $75 each, until one is chosen.

  2. Two (2) updated designs (based on feedback of the first 3 concepts).

  3. One (1) "final" design.

  4. Three (3) rounds of non-design revisions (i.e., text changes, minor tweaks to elements, etc.)
    to the chosen design.

  5. Preflighting and collecting of project files.

  6. All final files associated with the project will be provided to Client on CD or DVD* ** ***.
    *DVD media may be used for excessively large projects. Clients without access to a DVD drive
    will be provided with CDs.
    **Smaller projects such as Web banners or graphics will be provided to Client via email, unless otherwise requested.
    ***ALL files from the project (including design concepts) can be provided for an additional 25%
    of the estimated price.

As part of the service, I will be in direct contact with your chosen print vendor, correcting any issues or problems with files should they arise. For more information about dealing with print vendors, see

Custom Website designs do not utilize widely used templates. Designs are created individually.

Images are supplied by the Client.

Clients are encouraged to look at some of the available Web hosting services listed on the Vendor Resources page.

$450 base.

Base price includes 5 pages, header image design (shared by all pages), special formatting (creation of tables or specific alignment) and uploading of files to Client's chosen Web hosting service.

Add'l pages $50 each.

All files provided on CD.

Websites are created with HTML tables and .css text styles. Animations or complex graphics are extra.

Postcards*

$300

Print-ready files provided via email or on CD.

Custom Direct Mail Pieces

$50 per hour. Projects priced individually.

Illustration

Spot Illustration (black and white)

Simple B&W images (no shading).

Custom Character Design

All rights for character belong to Client.

Commissioned Portraits from Photographs

B&W portrait in ebony pencil on index card stock or illustration board.

Custom Illustration

$50 per hour. Projects priced individually.

Print and Web-ready file formats in B&W and color (where appropriate) are provided on CD.

Cartooning

$50 per hour. Projects priced individually.

Digital Imaging

Photo Restoration and Retouching

$50 per hour. Projects priced individually.

Image file supplied on CD. Prints can be purchased from KodakGallery.com.

Photo Collage/Custom Image Creation

$50 per hour. Projects priced individually.

Logo Re-creation

$100 base + $50 per hour, depending upon logo complexity.

Includes Print and Web-ready file formats provided in B&W, grayscale, and color.

Additional Services

Re-creation of files in format suitable
for printing

Designer will recommend what is needed for individual jobs. Designer will consult with client's vendor if necessary.

Re-creation of printed piece

Includes re-creation of printed piece, and all files supplied to Client on CD.

Scanning

Black and White Images:
$5 per image
(up to 5x7)

$10 per image
(8x10 to 8.5x11)

Color Images:
$10 per image
(up to 5x7)

$15 per image
(8x10 to 8.5x11)

Larger items for scanning, please inquire.

Includes basic tonal balancing.

High resolution JPEG files will be provided via email, FTP, or on CD.

*Providing both color and black and white versions of all images adds 25% to total scanning cost.

Print Brokering

10% of the estimated price.
$100 minimum charge.

Includes acquiring quotes and selecting most appropriate print vendor, acting as liaison between printer and Client, and seeing job through completion.

Base Hourly Rate $50USD/hour.

Minimum charge for all jobs is $100USD.

Note: Changes that fall outside the scope of the estimate are billable at a rate of $50USD per hour.
Changes made by the client after final approval (Author's Alterations, or AA's)
are billable at a rate of $75USD per hour.
RUSH changes (24 hour turnaround) are billable at a rate of $100USD per hour.
*Minimum charge for additional changes is one hour at the applicable rate.

Note: The above prices are for design and illustration work only, and do not include printing,
mailing or shipping charges, and any applicable sales taxes.
*Charges for shipping outside the US will be separately calculated and added to the final invoice.

Cancellation Policy
In the event a project is cancelled after work has begun, the 50% downpayment
will be considered forfeit by the Client. If labor has exceeded 50% of the estimated price,
the Client will be billed for the additional labor.
Once payment is received, the Designer will furnish all files relating to the project
up to that point in time to the Client on CD.
